Events: New Year's Eve 2022

Updated: Apr 5

HOW WILL YOU RING IN 2022?

California knows how to party, especially on New Year's Eve. Just about every bar and nightclub celebrates this prominent holiday. Restaurants are known to adjust their hours of operation, curate a special menu or throw a full on bash. Piers, hills and cities are lit with firework extravaganzas while casinos countdown the seconds.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, some events have been cancelled or altered. Regardless of where or how you decide to ring in the new year, please be safe.

If you're like me and haven't decided on what to do for New Year's Eve 2022, here are some random events, across multiple counties in California, that are happening. I will also mention a list of events that have been cancelled, this year.

Insomniac’s Countdown

This two day EDM concert features a sick DJ line-up. Deadmou5, Tiesto, Diplo, RL Grime, A-Track & Troiboi, to name a few. Dance the night away among an alien invasion theme. I've always dreamed of it. Tickets are on sale for $108.

Gaslamp Quarter

This historic and lively strip is known for its nightlife—period. From accommodations to food, you can find casual to upscale, independent to chain establishments offering global options. By merely walking, you are already at a social event, and so, you can spend as much or as little as you like. Establishments who expanded onto the street due to pandemic, continue to do so.

Location: Downtown San Diego, CA

Bounded by RR tracks, Broadway, 4th, and 6th Aves.

Roaring ‘20s Gala

The hotel's Crown Room takes on speakeasy vibes with a live-action food station and open bar. Live music by DJ and The Mighty Untouchables. There will be a midnight champagne toast and more. Tickets range from $640 - $6,385.

All White Party

The casino will offer free party favors, live music and performances in an "all white party" dress code theme. A popular Los Angeles radio station, KLOV 107.5 FM, will host a singles party, in the Drum Room called Chispa. Tickets for this event are $20. Tickets to dinning events throughout the casino range from $45 - $135.

Location: Morongo Casino

49500 Seminole Dr, Cabazon, CA 92230

Firework Shows & Cancellations

All of Southern California amusement parks are scheduled to awe us with a firework show. Long Beach will light up the waterfront at midnight thanks to the Downtown Long Beach Alliance. Both the city of San Francisco and Sacramento have cancelled their firework spectacle, for the second year in a row. My family withdrew their evening plans at Pechanga Casino, in Temecula, due to the cancellation of the midnight ball-drop and firework show. Wishing you a prosperous and happy new year!
